Ebert Farms Newsletter

October 5, 2006

I jumped the gun on Toots’ calving. She surprised me and held out until yesterday. She had a GIRL!! Valhalla also had a GIRL on Monday! We are so excited to have broken the streak of boys. We will have lots of colostrum this week. It will be the last time for a while as we don't expect another calf for about 60 days.

We have results for the latest milk test. The standard plate count was 1100, coliforms 2, and both Salmonella and E Coli 0157:H7 were negative.

We are picking up pork today. All cuts are back in stock. Guidestone Farm has lamb available for custom butcher. You can contact them for details at 970-461-0272.

It is also the time of year to enjoy the pumpkin patch and other fun and educational activities at Guidestone Farm. I have uploaded a PDF file to the Yahoo Group site if you are interested in finding out more details.

Have a great week!
