On Saturday we picked up beef and pork from the meat locker. The beef is antibiotic, hormone, and vaccination free. No grain was ever fed to the animal — it is 100% grassfed. We were also able to harvest a few older chickens. These will be great for making stock. You can find the new items on the updated list below.
I'm trying to think of something exciting to write about today and honestly, nothing happened this week. What a relief!
Recently two different individuals shared recipe ideas with me and I wanted to pass them on. Caryl suggests substituting our yogurt for sour cream in any recipe. I tried it in a sour cream chocolate cake this week and it was terrific! Lili explained that she adds fruit and sweetener to the yogurt and freezes it in her ice cream maker. I haven't tried this one yet, but I am going to... Yum! Thanks for the ideas!
